A Healthier (just as fun & yummy!) Halloween

With Halloween nearing (and many festivities happening this week) I wanted to share a few of my top tips for a Healthier Halloween (with all the fall fun still!). Whether its trick-or-treating, fun Halloween parties, and more, I’ve got you!

No tricks here.

Enjoy a few of your favorite special treats and then maybe shift to some of the items below to keep the holiday fun, with a healthier twist, for the best of both worlds!

1) Enjoy some better-for-you treats such as:

2) Celebrate in fun and healthy ways beyond all the candy, such as doing a fun craft, drawing festive pictures for neighbors, Teachers or Grandparents, or taking a nighttime walk telling spooky stories (or around a bonfire). Carve pumpkins (tip: the adults can use a hand mixer to get the seeds and insides out and a drill to help with the big areas-game changer!) and roast the pumpkin seeds with some olive oil and spices at 300 degrees for about 30 minutes until golden and crispy.

3) Have a candy trade-up, where kiddos get to trade in the rest of their candy for a toy, experience, etc. This is a win-win and gets them excited for something enriching that’s even better than Reese’s and Skittles! :)
